About Us

Hi, I'm Sarah Mitchell—and I'm so glad you've found English Cocker Life. This blog began from a simple place: a deep love for English Cocker Spaniels and a desire to share what I've learned with others who adore this breed as much as I do.

About fifteen years ago, I met my first English Cocker Spaniel. I wasn't looking for a specific breed at the time, but the moment I spent time with one—those soulful eyes, that wagging tail, and that blend of gentle affection and lively spirit—I was hooked. Since then, I've shared my home with several Cockers and have devoted countless hours to understanding their needs, their quirks, and how to help them thrive. Today, I'm lucky to share my life with two: Bella and Oliver. They're my daily inspiration, my walking partners, and the reason this blog exists.

Our Mission

English Cocker Life exists to provide reliable, practical, and heartfelt information for English Cocker Spaniel owners and enthusiasts. Whether you're thinking about adding a Cocker to your family, you've just brought one home, or you've had the breed for years, I want this to be a place where you find useful advice, honest experiences, and a sense of community. My goal is to help you give your Cocker the best possible life—and to celebrate everything that makes this breed so special.

What You Can Expect

Here you'll find articles on care, health, grooming, training, nutrition, and lifestyle—all written with the English Cocker Spaniel in mind. I cover topics that real owners ask about: from seasonal care and allergy management to mental enrichment and rescue adoption. I believe in evidence-based information where it exists, and I'm transparent when I'm sharing personal experience or opinion. You'll also find a commitment to warmth and approachability; dog ownership should feel supportive, not overwhelming.

My Background

I'm not a veterinarian or a professional trainer—I'm an experienced owner and an enthusiastic advocate for the breed. I've been living with and learning about English Cocker Spaniels for over fifteen years. I'm a member of the American Kennel Club and stay involved with breed clubs and rescue networks to keep my knowledge current. I research topics thoroughly, consult reputable sources and professionals when needed, and aim to present information that is accurate and helpful. If I ever get something wrong, I'm committed to correcting it and learning alongside you.

Join the Community

English Cocker Life is more than a blog—it's a community of people who love these dogs. I invite you to read, subscribe, and join the conversation. Your stories and questions matter. Together, we can make life better for Cockers and their families.

Thank you for being here. I'm honored to share this journey with you.
